Jack Quaid talks about the action scenes of Novocaine, says “It's a challenge cause your natural instinct is to wince”

Love is a formidable force, but what occurs when it faces an unprecedented test? Novocaine is a high-energy action thriller intertwined with a heart-racing love story. When Nate's life is upended by the abduction of the woman he loves, he must use his rare condition—an inability to feel pain—as his ultimate weapon.

Bringing this intensity to the screen is The Boys star Jack Quaid, who takes on the role of Nate, facing the unique challenge of performing action scenes without displaying pain. Discussing this, Jack Quaid remarked, “The stunt scenes were incredibly fun to perform, I must say. There was a lot of rigorous training and rehearsing, but it was all worth it. It was exciting to do these fight scenes as someone who can't feel pain. It's challenging because your natural instinct is to wince or act hurt, which is what I've done for every other fight scene, and here you have to resist that instinct. So, we found a way for Nate to fight specifically since he's not a trained fighter, which was really cool to figure out how these fight scenes unfold.”

Discussing the action sequences and the team behind them, Jack added, “A big shout out to Stanny and our entire stunt team. They did an amazing job. I think the kitchen fight might have been my favorite, and then there’s a scene in a rundown house that was unbelievably fun to do. Nathan Kane can’t feel pain, and that’s about it!”

Directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, Novocaine offers a captivating blend of action, romance, and suspense, pushing Nate to his limits as he battles against insurmountable odds. Filled with intense chases, raw emotion, and a narrative that demonstrates love is worth every fight, this is an experience you won’t want to miss.

Mark your calendars for 14th March 2025 and prepare for a fast-paced, hilarious adventure packed with jaw-dropping action—Novocaine also available in 4Dx!
