Film Review: Jilabi (Marathi)

Banner: Anand Pandit Motion Pictures & Ultra Media & Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.Genre: Crime/Thriller

Synopsis:ACP Vijay Karmarkar (Swapnil Joshi), a corrupt police officer, is assigned the murder investigation of Ashutosh (Abhijit Dulgach), the son-in-law of the wealthy Subhedar family. As the case unfolds, multiple suspects, kidnappings, and murders complicate the narrative, leading to a web of deceit and betrayal.

Review:Machhindra Bugde’s story is stretched and burdened with too many characters, which makes the drama confusing and, at times, tedious. The screenplay holds some fair moments but loses grip often. Dialogues are unimpressive.

Swapnil Joshi stands out with a stylish and strong performance as ACP Vijay. Prasad Oak delivers convincingly in a double role, while Shivani Surve looks charming and does justice to her part. Other supporting actors provide routine to average support.

Direction by Nitin Kamble is fair but lacks edge. Technical aspects like background score, action, and cinematography remain functional but not extraordinary. Editing is loose.

Verdict: Jilabi is an overlong and confusing thriller that fails to leave a strong impact.
