Film Review: Rukhwat (Marathi)

ree

Sushilkumar Agrawal, Ultra & Rabri Entertainment’s Rukhwat is a routine reincarnation drama that fails to excite.

Story & Screenplay

Archaeology students Amar (Santosh Juvekar) and Mahima (Priyadarshini Indalkar) discover mysterious dolls that awaken memories of their tragic past lives as Jagannath and Nishigandha. The film then traces their previous birth and untimely deaths.Vikram Pradhan’s story offers nothing new beyond the gimmick of dolls initiating the reincarnation thread. The screenplay is dull, predictable, and devoid of thrills. Even the climax is weak. Vishal-Vijay’s dialogues are plain.

Performances & Technicals

Santosh Juvekar and Priyadarshini Indalkar are average, failing to elevate their roles. Ashok Samarth and Rajendra Shisatkar lend routine support, while Abhijeet Chavan is passable.Pradhan’s direction, like his writing, is uninspiring. Music (Gaurav Chati) and lyrics (Vikrant Hirnaik) are below average. Background score is functional but not impactful. Cinematography (Shakti Indoria) is dull, and editing (Man B. Roka) is loose.

Verdict

Rukhwat is a lifeless reincarnation drama with little novelty and negligible commercial potential.
