Film Review: Mukkam Post Bombilwadi (Marathi)

ree

Vivek Films & Mayasabha Karamnuk Mandali’s Mukkam Post Bombilwadi is a farcical comedy that entertains despite absurdity.

Story & Screenplay

Set in 1942, Hitler (Prashant Damle) mistakenly lands in a Konkan village and hides inside a trunk in the police station, only to be discovered by a local theatre troupe. Chaos and hilarity ensue as the villagers deal with the unexpected guest.Based on Paresh Mokashi’s stage play, the premise is far-fetched but Mokashi’s screenplay ensures constant humour and entertainment. Dialogues are witty and effective.

Performances & Technicals

Prashant Damle is excellent as Hitler. Vaibhav Mangale is superb, while Manmeet Pem, Pranav Raorane, Ritika Shrotri, and Sunil Abhyankar all shine. Supporting cast, including Geetanjali Kulkarni and Anand Ingale, add flavour.Mokashi’s direction is sharp and comical. Music (Tanmay Bhide) is good, background score effective, and camerawork above average. Editing is crisp.

Verdict

Mukkam Post Bombilwadi is an engaging comedy with strong performances and will do well, especially with word of mouth.
