FAUJI’ (MARATHI) REVIEW

ree

The tale of two armymen and what their families must go through is told in Matrupitru Films' Fauji (Marathi; UA). Two soldiers are Chaitanya Marathe (Saurabh Gokhale) and Bharat Deshmukh (Ghanshyam Yede). The narrative stresses the sacrifices soldiers and their families make.

Ghanshyam Yede has written a somewhat expected narrative about the difficulties army personnel's families must deal with. His script is full with cliched events and scenarios. The feelings just touch the heart in spots only. Not even the climax has the intended effect. Ghanshyam Yede writes in a common sense.

Like Chaitanya Marathe, Saurabh Gokhale seems intelligent and behaves sensibly. As Sunanda, Prajakta Gaikwad is fine. Ghanshyam Yede plays Bharat Deshmukh rather well. As Poonam, Ashwini Kasar performs a decent job. In the part of Maqsood Azhar, Shahbaaz Khan is regular. As Muzbil Ibrahim, Tinnu Verma gives mediocre assistance. Arun Nalavade marks himself as Aaba. Sanjay Khapre is very remarkable as Jasraj. Hansraj Jagtap shows himself as Sandy. As Ganesh or Ganya, Vivek Chabukswar is fine. As the sarpanch, Nagesh Bhosle has moments. As Shubham, Rohit Chavan is fine. Regular assistance comes from Pragnya Nayan, Jahanvi Vyas, Manjusha Khatri, Siddheshwar Zadbuke, Kalyani Chaudhari, Jayant Savarkar, Sunil Godbole.

The directing of Ghanshyam Yede is average. The songs (Rajesh Bamgude, Baba Chavan, Suraj Kumar) and the words (by Ghanshyam Yede) are functioning. The choreography of D.C. David is not worth shouting about. The background music of Umesh Raorane and Suraj Kumar is really ordinary. The photography of Mohan Varma is not too bad. Sometimes the action and stunt sequences by Moses Fernandes provide some excitement. The artwork direction of Vasu Patil and Kaushal Singh is passable. Editing by Viswajeet leaves much to be desired.
