Story & Screenplay

Mission Ayodhya revolves around a group of terrorists plotting to blow up the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Ajit Deshmukh (Nilesh Deshpande), a history teacher, and Vichare (Dr. Abhay Kamat), a devout follower of Lord Ram, rise to the occasion and foil the terrorists’ plan, saving the temple.

Krishna Dadarao Shinde’s story clearly attempts to bank on Hindutva sentiment. However, it lacks freshness and novelty. The screenplay by Sameer Ramesh Surve is routine and highly predictable, failing to build any real tension or suspense. The drama unfolds in a straightforward manner without surprise or shock value, leaving the audience disengaged. Surve’s dialogues, too, are flat and functional, offering no memorable lines.

Performances

  • Nilesh Deshpande (Ajit Deshmukh) delivers a so-so performance, with little depth.

  • Tejaswi Patil (Swati Madam) is average in her role.

  • Dr. Abhay Kamat (Vichare) turns in an ordinary performance, not leaving much impact.

  • Satish Pulekar (school principal) is just about passable.Supporting cast members contribute little, adding to the overall dullness of the narrative.

Technical Aspects

  • Direction: Sameer Ramesh Surve’s direction lacks grip, intensity, and cinematic appeal.

  • Music: S.D. Sadguru’s music is unimpressive, while lyrics (by Surve, Abhijit Joshi, and Purva Thosar) remain functional.

  • Choreography: Tejasvi Anant Parab’s work is average at best.

  • Background Score: Nilesh Dahanukar’s background music fails to elevate scenes.

  • Cinematography: Nazir S. Khan’s camerawork is uninspiring and leaves much to be desired.

  • Action/Stunts: Moses Fernandes’ action choreography lacks fire and thrill.

  • Editing: Prafull Sushila Sharad Mohite’s editing is loose, diluting the overall pace.

  • Production Design: Sanjeev Rane’s work is serviceable but not remarkable.

Verdict

Mission Ayodhya aims to stir patriotic and religious emotions but falters due to its weak story, predictable screenplay, and lackluster technical execution. With uninspiring performances and ineffective direction, the film fails to leave an impact either emotionally or cinematically.
