Film Review: Raid 2

ree

T-Series Films and Panorama Studios’ Raid 2 is the sequel to the 2018 hit Raid. This time, Income-Tax Officer Amay Patnaik (Ajay Devgan) embarks on his 75th raid, targeting an influential politician who hides behind the garb of philanthropy.

Story, Screenplay & Dialogues

Amay Patnaik raids Manohar Dhankar a.k.a. Dadabhai (Ritesh Deshmukh), a powerful minister in Bhoj revered as a God by the people for his charitable works. But behind the façade lies a web of corruption, black money, and criminal activities. Dadabhai is clever enough to erase every shred of incriminating evidence before the raid, leading to Amay’s suspension for conducting an “unauthorized” operation.

Not one to give up, Amay collects more foolproof evidence and goes after Dadabhai again—this time exposing him so thoroughly that the raid proves disastrous for the politician’s empire.

Written by Ritesh Shah, Raj Kumar Gupta, Jaideep Yadav, and Karan Vyas, the screenplay has the right blend of suspense, investigation, and courtroom-like drama. The film has plenty of twists and turns, keeping the audience engaged throughout. The second half, in particular, is more exciting as Amay closes in on his target. Some technical financial jargon might feel heavy for a lay audience, but the larger picture remains clear. Dialogues are sharp, punch-packed, and at times clapworthy.
