Story & Screenplay

Mahavatar Narsimha retells the classic Hindu myth of Hiranyakashyapu, his son Prahlad, and Lord Vishnu’s Narsimha avatar. Hiranyakashyapu declares himself God and tries to eliminate his devoted son, Prahlad, who remains steadfast in his devotion to Vishnu. The climax sees Vishnu manifest as Narsimha to defeat the demon and restore cosmic balance.

The story, adapted by Jayapurna Das, Rudra P. Ghosh, and Ashwin Kumar, is engaging and faithful to the original mythology. The screenplay is well-paced, with each episode the birth of the demons, Prahlad’s devotion, Hiranya kashyapu’s attempts on Prahlad’s life, and the climactic battle presented to maximize excitement and thrill. Shlokas and devotional songs interwoven throughout the narrative add depth and emotional resonance, particularly appealing to Hindu audiences. The dialogues are simple but could have been sharper for added impact.
